FULL DAY QUITO:
CITY TOUR & EQUATOR LINE

Quito is a city rich in diverse activities, viewpoints, buildings, and historical sites, all surrounded by nature. Exploring Quito alone deserves a few days. Here, we provide some themes you may enjoy and activities to help you create your ideal plan in “KITU” (Quito), this ancient,  Andean and equatorial city.

Our City Tour or Full-Day tour could be an opportunity to appreciate the city from different viewpoints, perspectives, and through various activities.

Some helpful information to organize your "ideal plan"in Quito:

  • The City Tour or Full Day Tour typically lasts 3 to 6 hours.
  • We recommend selecting at least two options to experience the most important viewpoints and attractions in Quito. Of course, you can always choose additional activities!
  • The attractions you choose will depend on your arrival or departure time from Quito. If it’s your first time in Quito or the Andes region, be mindful of the altitude.
  • We absolutely love the panoramic views of Quito, so we won’t miss the opportunity to enjoy them from a hill or one of the many lookouts.

Optional activities in Quito:

Equator Line! Visit the Equinoctial Valley! There are several attractions in this valley, just minutes away from Quito, including the “Ciudad Mitad del Mundo” tourist complex, interactive museums, Catequilla Hill (the ancestral «Middle of the World»), and the Rumicucho archaeological site. These places offer the opportunity to explore the historical significance of this equinoctial zone and gain insights into ancestral knowledge.

Historical Center of Quito: «Quito’s Jewel.» Any lookout, plaza, monastery, church, or even a café in Quito’s Old Town is a great place to immerse yourself in this ancestral territory, where the Kitus, Incas, and Spaniards once lived. Today, the city boasts the best-preserved, least altered, and largest historic center in Latin America.

Heritage buildings, with their richly adorned interiors, are prime examples of the Quito Baroque school, a fusion of Spanish, Italian, Moorish, Flemish and Indigenous

City bike tour to explore Quito’s northern area: El Ejido Park, La Carolina Park, and Bicentenario Park (the old airport). Enjoy a peaceful ride through the city with our customized bikes, helmets, and gloves. This activity will mostly take place on bicycle lanes and be accompanied by a tour guide.

If you love adventure, mountains, sports, and beautiful landscapes, or if you’re training for hikes around Quito or the Central Andes, or staying near the airport, there’s an option for you: the «El Chaquiñán» Route. This trail crosses part of the valleys around Quito, allowing you to enjoy warmer weather, green canyons, native forests, tunnels, old railroads, and more special details.

Cable car or Teleferico, to the sky! One of the best views of the city at 4,020m/13,190 ft, we walk  around the most important Protector Forest in Quito where we can appreciate the “Paramo” ecosystem.

(It’s possible to plan a complete Trekking Day to Ruco Pichincha Summit at 4676m/15,420ft, it could take at least 5 hours)

Archeological Museum time! Quito, an ancestral city with many strategic sites where ancient civilizations studied solstices and equinoxes, is home to numerous archaeological sites, in-situ museums, private collections, and the National Museum, which offers a comprehensive perspective on our history.

Contemporary Art Museum “La Capilla del Hombre” exhibits Guayasamín’s work as a history of humankind and violence in Latin America and the world. It includes sculptures and murals and integrates the surroundings into an artistic interpretation of the “subject”.
