On the way to Cotopaxi, we pass through the valleys of Quito and the volcanoes surrounding the towns of Sangolquí and Machachi, admiring canyons, volcanic ravines, rivers and caves formed by the Cotopaxi Volcano centuries ago, as well as, farms, historical haciendas and the daily life around de volcano. We’ll reach the North Entrance of Cotopaxi National Park.
Traveling with us is a unique experience from the very start!
Inside Cotopaxi National Park, we cross the Volcanic Valley at 3,800 meters above sea level (12,467 ft). There are several areas to explore in the park, with some activities requiring more experience. We highly recommend trying at least one of these activities. While many travelers prefer just a panoramic view of the National Park, others love staying overnight near the volcano or enjoying a camping or overlanding experience.
